Juxtaposition

Today we learn about juxtaposition. To put into my understanding, juxtaposition means two or more things put into together and creating another meaning.

So we were ask to pick three numbers of our liking, between 0 and 99. Here are the list of the ten words that was given inside class:

So the number that i have chosen was 26, 27, 71 and the result are....wait for it...

1. Lightning and Spider
2. Lightning and Tree
3. Dog and Water

which none of the above makes any sense but were learning juxtaposition so it's supposed to be like that ( i think). Next, we have to make sentences of the chosen words, like mine was;

1. The lightning scared off the spider
2. The lightning strikes at the tree
3. The dog pee in the water ( Teehee!)

Then we have to draw them out....that's my favorite thing to do!

Furthermore, we have to actually combine them together, like they were made for each other or fuse together;

1.Lightning Spider

2. Lightning Tree

3. Dog Water

Oh wow none of the above seems to make any sense, at all. Never mind i rest my case.

On to the next one, where are supposed to write a passage about love, man and women, happiness, and pain;

1. Love

Love is like the flow of our blood, it will keep circulating inside of you with feelings that are indescribable but unlike blood it keeps flowing till the last breath of humanity, love doesn't.

2. Man and Women

If he was tease and criticize by others because of differences , may he truly believe they are the one with problems, not him.

3. Happiness

Happiness is like an expiring date. It could last for a long time or it can be thrown out in the trash in mere days. Treasure them while it last.

4. Pain

Pain is like a glass, you can always fix it whenever it is broken but you can never assemble the shards that have broken into pieces.

Every Success, There is Disasters

So today i read some news about my favorite place to be, which is the place where the sun rises.
It's Japan, of course but i'm in Malaysia and that's another story....so going on with the topic.

this article is about how inventions sometimes are brilliant and
can be market but there is always problems that lies ahead.

First of all, when we invent something, it is always something to satisfy 
the customer by creating something they desire. We as the inventors will fulfilled they're 
wishes.

But..our inventions are sometimes backfired such as the invention isn't selling, it's too expensive, easily get tired with it, and etc.

Basically, the main thing that i learn after reading this article is that innovations are good but sometimes is just cannot be help if the ideas aren't acceptable and the invention may end up a failure but we would always have the spirit and the will to keep on trying to improve.

Mind Maps, Mortar and Pestles

So today we will be talking about mind maps.

What is a mind map? what does it do? where does it come from? who's the inventor?
Want to know the answer, well you will in a minute.

Mind maps are basically a diagram or a drawing of a subject which you break down their information into tiny little information such as ideas,concepts and words in a multiple sections which we called branches, so it is understandable by peoples. Mind maps are always best to generate, structure, visualize ideas and they really help in studies, solving problems, organizing information and making up decisions.

Here some examples,

For today's exercise, we were given by Mr Radzi a slide with a mortar and pestle in it. We were asked to a mind map about the uses of mortar and pestle in the most creative ways, well all of us had so many ideas that may relate to this two items, perhaps.
Here is three ideas that i chose with a not that nice illustration by yours truly....me!

1. Tea

2. Sword and Shield

Long long ago, a knight uses the mortar and pestle to slay the dragon ( actually is the lizard or a gecko).

It seems logic, it really is.

3. S.O.S

It is use to when individuals are in need of help, we will whack the mortar with the pestle to warn the anyone within our surroundings that we are in danger or...hungry because no one feeds us the whole day, really.

Orphism or Orphic Cubism

Do you know what Orphism is?

If your answer is "No" then you will know about it in a minute!

and if your is "Yes" then the answer it's the same as above.

Okay back to topic.

The history of art have been developing throughout the years and i will be covering Orphism as the main topic for today. How exciting!

Orphism is a like brother of Cubism but from another mother, of course. Their almost the same but Orphism is more focused on the abstraction and their bright colors. They are more concerned with it's expression, movement, dose of sensation. Orphism only dispense with recognizable subject matter, relies on the form and color to bring out the meaning of the drawing.

The movement was aimed to have infinitude of interrelated states of being. The Cubist is uses form and dynamics and the Orphist uses the same but with colors too. The Orphic metaphor represented the artist's power to create new structure's and color harmonies, to put it into a innovative creativity process that will combine them to form a sensuous experience.

What traits make them creative?

Orphism does not need to be in a full form like Cubism. They are more to their pure abstraction and their sensation of colors as well. They're using colors to reflects the expressions and emotions that is inside them, the movement of the drawing states of the being and when this two combine with each other it will bring out a sensuousness meaning.

What environmental condition existed?

In 1912, Orphism was perceived from Cubism to Abstract Art. How exciting!! and it was relaunched  with the use of color  and back then the term of Orphism was elusive when it first appears and it remains to some extent.

   

What was the process of creativity?

Personally, i think Robert Delaunay and his gang wanted to do more than just doing concrete Cubism. I mean like breaking it down and reassembling it, that's kinda boring if you keep doing it everyday. So, they decide to make it more abstract and put more color on it, so that it brings out a deeper meaning from it. Even after 1913 Robert Delaunay still keeps on painting eventhough is not literally Oprhism but it stilll remains in our history of art.

Nurture the future creativity

The future inventions are upgrading in the speed of light! At first you will just look away when they were still in their old version and when you accidentally turned back, they'll be in a state of awesomeness and you'll be amazed by them.

                 Yeah...i know.. be amazed women,be amazed! of the future inventions!

Well people said we can't predict the future........well they will in a minute! Okay..i'm just trying to be funny, back to topic. Nowadays, everything that's surrounding us are all mobiles, don't believe me? for example, try walking around KL and you'll be seeing everything and i mean everything! everyone is using smartphones, wireless, online delivery and many more.

This is proving that human kind are accelerating and growing in their creativity on innovation and there is nothing that will stop them, unless there's a huge typhoon hit us which will never happens.....probably..well back to the story!

Innovations and inventions are the greatest gift for the humans. Humans can be greedy when it comes to inventions and innovations too. Now that were  growing more and looking forward for the future, people intent to invent more futuristic things.


What kind of environment, situation etc., would make you become a creative/inventive/innovative person?

It would be a place where you can adapt with the surroundings probably somewhere like the land of the rising sun, which is my favorite place that i'm supposed to be! but still stuck in Malaysia. To me Japan will be the best place to be more creative with your innovation because Japanese people are very hardworking with their works and always think ahead and their inventions are always so unique and impressive. They always have new ideas for their inventions everyday, no wonder their called the leading nations of many things.

So if you want your future generations to be creative, raise them up in Japan or how a Japanese raise their children!

Sir Ken Robinson's Speech on TEDTalks

Sir Ken Robinson's speech actually leave a very deep impression on me, it made me wonder if what he's talking about was actually true or not? but the talk was still spectacular and humorous as well. 

He notice's that education system nowadays have their goods and bad about them, not just in one country but all over the world. He was mainly talking about people mistaken the differences between intelligence and creativity, which i think there's no differences between them and they're actually need each other to be exact.

There are a few things that i come to agree on after the speech though.

 If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original. - Sir Ken Robinson

He said that people now stigmatize their mistakes, i agree on that because i was among the people who do stigmatize their mistakes but that's another topic...so going on....we know that creativity requires facing the risk and challenges but there are many of us who aren't willing to take it or likewise not even try to fight for it.

Why are we so scared with our mistakes?

I thought that being creative is when you want to express your true self and be different than other people, but why do we held back those desire? Just because some people judge you and they also can bring you down but that doesn't mean we need to give right away. If it continues like this then it will result to a great loss of people with talent but wasn't recognized , with dreams but weren't reachable, with hopes and potential but were crushed by others. This would only lead on to an individuals who are practically low-self esteem and very depressed, if this keeps going on.

                                                        Intelligence is diverse

Sir Ken Robinson said that intelligence is diverse. I mean of course it is!! Just try to think if people keep on receiving information and keep on writing notes like totally normal or add a little bit of highlights it will surely be boring because sometimes people don't even understand what they're writing down because it's to boring and dull. That's why there are people who are very creative whenever they'e receive information, they'll be like doodling with little bubble speech which keeps it interesting and many more.

But so far the society has been pushing the people to only learn a single way of learning which they think will help the children to cope with it and forcing them to learn our way.

 Mistakes are also like human nature, you're born with it and as soon as you notice it you'll be doing mistakes as you grew. Making mistakes is a part of us, we can't run from it nor wish it way, all we have to do is face it and improve, take it as lesson in life that you will better in it. We will grow more wiser and learn more as we make mistakes.

Five Words for Not Creativity ( 2nd Part)

So the last post was the first part, now on to the second part.
Like last time i have listed five words that i think means creativity, but what about the opposite of that word?
Let's list five words for creativity in the opposite way.

1. Safe

Personally, i think creativity needs us to think out of the box, be different, and go all out with your ideas! So that means we cannot play safe all the time, that will just show us that were lacking of confidence on our  own creativeness. What is the reason that you held back that creativity? Low self-esteem? Confidence? well what ever the reason is and if we keep playing safe, we won't be achieving the creativity were aiming.

   2. Same

Sometimes when you see things that is absolutely the same everyday, won't you get bored with it? i mean it's like a cycle of your daily life, it will always be the same but if you take the initiative to change it, then it will be different.
Furthermore, if you keep seeing the same creation..but it changes a bit, maybe the wording...and seriously you will feel nothing and sometimes you just might look away or don't even bother with it. So, stop with the same creation and think out of the box!

  3. Lame

Where have the creativity gone? i mean like back way before 2013...i mean people back then was very creative, for an example...we can always take the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. P. Ramlee

He is one of the good actors of all times and my favorite. He's acting cannot be compared with the actors and actress that is in our generation...to put it in simple words, he is awesome! He's creativity got his title as a Tan Sri and plus a Malaysian film actor, producer,singer,songwriter, director and a composer.

Not to say things badly about my race but now the Malay standard of movies, series, comedy and many more....just doesn't make any sense. I mean their comedy sometimes is just so offensive and kinda bad. Some of the movies are like stiff most of the times...like they're just acting according to the script....by script i mean like puppets that needs to be controlled by a puppeteer.  

What happen to our generation of creativity? back then it was so good but now...it's LAME.

4. Scared

Ok..now we can't always be scared to doing things we love because we loved and like what were doing, right? So basically what's there stopping yourself from doing it? If we keep getting scared,then when are we supposed to burst out the creativity that we keep inside. This is just another hurdle that we have to get through it.

5. Rejection

Ahh that word always sting inside me...,but rejection is a part of growing up with our daily life even if it means it has something to do with creativity. I mean like some people when they got rejected, they will completely give up their hopes or just stop doing their work. We can't just stop after we've been rejected i mean is one step to our success fullness, so don't just stop what you're doing. Improve and keep improving yourself till you get better is the only way. At least when you know you're mistake you will try to improve it.

Five Words in Creativity ( 1st Part)

When we were supposed to associates our self with the word "Creative", the words that pops out into my mind were.....

1. Emotions

It was not that unusual for me to think of that word, even though it accidentally appears in my mind but oh well.

I actually believe that creativity is one way of expressing your hidden emotions or the ones you have no idea how to express with. I mean look at all the people surrounding us don't they sometimes express their creativeness through the feelings that are inside of them. For example when they are happy there will be new creation that are filled with joy but if you're feeling angry.....that will lead to a creation filled with frustration or pain.

Just like in our Visual Research Communication 2 class, we were taught that every piece of creativity you'll be doing should be added with your own emotion or mood because sometimes creativity reflects the real emotion that is within us all.

2. Ideas

Just like in every classes i have learn so far, creativity is also making up your own original ideas. Well is no fun to copyright other people's hard work and just make it yours! that's called PLAGIARISM!! we should always start our ideas from scratch so that it shows our effort in it.
Ideas are the starting roots for us to begin our creation. Without them then where will we be? What's the use of our brains if we don't think of anything?
Ideas can come in big or even small sizes but that's not the point. What matter's the most is the thinker itself whether if he or she has the guts to make their ideas into a reality.

3. Simple

Personally, I think creativity should be kept simple. Although there are people who might not think the same way because they think is best to do creativity in a complicated idea. Well we cannot blame the others because different people have their own point of view, so basically there is no right nor wrong in this matter.
Sometimes is best to keep it simple, not all ideas of creativity needs to be so dramatic or tragic.

                                          Keep it simple is the best sometimes


4. Freedom

I think creativity also stands out for freedom because we are free to pour our ideas that we have been holding back all this time into reality not just any illusion anymore but into a real thing. Sometimes we need to create new lovely art or designs  without any rules and regulations. Just like we need our times to pamper ourselves with things we like in life right? we cannot always follow the rules then that means our life will have no meaning, so we need to rebel against the rules sometimes to make it interesting.

                        Free to think on your way of liking, don't just follow the rules!

5. Relax

Creativity also means relax or have it your way of doing. Sometimes we don't need to do something with any purpose or meaning, it's just pops out in your mind out of nowhere. The idea sometimes comes popping in your mind when you are in a very relaxed mode.

               Relax is always the best solution to get inspired with a new randomly ideas.

Why Did Such Tragedy Happen?

                                                                         "The Rise and Fall of Titanic"

Don't you ever wonder why this terrifying tragedy happen to the Titanic? It has been nearly a century since the sinking of the Titanic happens. Doesn't any one of us the future generation wants to solve this mystery?

                                                              they're so cute together!! 

I mean every time someone or a random person speaks about the Titanic it will be all about Jack, Rose, and their so called Awesome yet Epic Tale of love story. It's not that i dislike them, i too think of them when the word "Titanic" is spoken.

Anyhow, i'm getting SUPER CURIOUS on why did it happen and so i did some research, brainstorming on this matter which leads to some creative answers yet it could be logic. Here are some EPIC answers i've got.

                                                          It's The Awesome Titanic in 1912

1. Mankind Were Too Arrogant

We know that the Titanic was an awesome ship that mankind had ever build. Well it's true though! because the Titanic was known as the Symbol of Advanced Technology.

 That's why people all over the world were full of awe and amazed of the Awesomeness of it's Maiden Voyage when they were told that The White Star Liner can withstand anything.

 Anything? are you sure about that ? i mean there's nothing in this world is perfect, there is something that keeps lingering in my mind whether to think the people back then was very arrogant or they were a bit not clever.

There were other ships that try to warn the Titanic by signal calls, that the path  they are heading too had iceberg along the way. But they were too ignorant, that they didn't even respond to the other ships distress calls, thinking that the Titanic is impenetrable.

On the night of Sunday 14 April 1912, the sea was flat calm, the sky was clear and it was a moonless night and the temperature was dropping towards freezing. In other words, sea ice were very difficult to be spotted that time. And all the passengers well most of them were enjoying a party, sleeping, and well minding their own business. 

Until the alarm sounded and the telephone bridge says "Iceberg, right ahead." And surely they were too late to avoid the iceberg and the Titanic was struck not less then 40 seconds. This show how mankind takes things for granted. Oh well to cut it short it was their own loss.


2. Titanic should have Missiles in it.

                                        This is like the coolest invention ever!!

They should have installed or build the Titanic with missiles!! wouldn't that be more awesome then just an ordinary cruise ship. It could be like a fighting/cruise ship and  they can destroy anything that blocks their path.

For example, when the missiles were launch to the iceberg, it could look a little bit like this

                                      BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

and like always the great Titanic sinks downtown of the ocean.

3. Dancing Happy Feet

                                              Dance Penguins! Dance for your life!!

The real reason behind all this tragedy is because the Titanic was trying to avoid the "Happy Feet" or what we called the penguins. 

The penguins might have swim, passing, or dancing by when the scene was occurred.The real problem lies here, the penguins were too adorable that the captain of the ship didn't have the heart to run them over, seriously look at them.

and so the Titanic hit the iceberg, and all the penguins survived and they lived happily ever after.
